Our journey begins with a tranquil boat ride through the Pochote Estuary, a lush mangrove ecosystem teeming with life.

As we cruise through this serene song, your guide will share fascinating insights about the local environment.

Next, we head to Playa Vivos to relax and enjoy a stunning sunset by the sea. Here, we’ll share fresh fruits and refreshing drinks while soaking in the peaceful ambiance.

As night falls, we return to the boat and set out in search of the glowing waters. Your guide will explain the incredible phenomenon of bioluminescence — a natural light show created by microscopic organisms in the sea.

We’ll explore the best spots to witness this breathtaking display.

This tour takes place by boat and includes snorkeling to observe the phenomenon. Our guide will provide masks for better visibility. You’ll need to dive and swim for a while, depending on your ability.

The brightness of the phenomenon is best appreciated through movement. We recommend making circular motions with both hands while swimming to enhance the visibility of the microscopic lights.

WHAT IS BIOLUMINESCENCE?

Bioluminescence is one of nature’s most impressive and unique phenomena in the region. It is light emitted by certain organisms which transform chemical energy into light energy.

It is observed in insects and fungi, but it can also be found in bodies of water, generally in aquatic ecosystems.

In all its forms, this phenomenon plays a significant role in marine environments. Bioluminescent bacteria are part of the food chain and many organisms depend on them for survival.

The dates for bioluminescence are established with respect to the lunar season, because the greater the darkness, the greater the visibility
